What is the Praise! Fellowship Singles Ministry all about?

     We’re glad you asked!!

We are a group of singles of all ages, some never married, some divorced, some widowed, some dating.  Some come from this church, many come from other churches, or are searching for a church they can call home.  This is a safe place for people to come and develop healthy, Godly friendships.  We respect each other’s denominational differences and affiliations.  We love the Lord and want to share the JOY of JESUS with others.  For such a time as this, God has appointed us to singleness and we are determined to make the most of this time in our lives.  We are a unique group who love to encourage and serve each other and have fun!!
We strive to create an atmosphere of respectful, courteous Christian fellowship in which the conduct and character of Christ are emphasized among participants.  The expectation of Christ-like behavior extends into the areas of language and clothing for all singles at every event.  We do not exist to be a dating service for single adults.
We do lots of different activities, some indoors, some outdoors, some high-energy and some relaxing.  There’s something for everyone and children are invited to many of our activities.  Sometimes we get together  with other Christian singles groups and do events with them – that way we get to make a lot more friends!!
It’s a good thing!  No it’s a GOD THING!!  We would be delighted to have you join us.  We have too much fun to keep to ourselves!

    Dear ones – August 2008

I recently had a computer mess up and I had to reenter all the people who receive
their flyer thru the regular mail.  I have a feeling more of you will get them snail mail than need to…. Please let me know if I can take you off snail mail and put you on email. It will save on postage.

    The Word

The Word of God is one of the most vital agents of sanctification in the life
of a believer, Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth” (John
    17:17, NKJV).

God’s Word has the power to protect us from sin and to purify us when we do sin.
David understood the necessity and value of the Scripture in his pursuit of godliness.

As I read scripture, I often pray that the Lord will wash me with His Word (Ephesians
5:26) – that He will use Scripture to purify my mind, my desires, and my will.

In addition to its cleansing properties, the Word has the power to renew our minds,
to transform us into the image of Christ, and to infuse us with Christian graces.
When the apostle Paul said farewell to the leaders of the church of Ephesus, he
commended them “to God and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you
up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).

Reading, studying, memorizing, and meditating on Scripture are disciplines that
provide weed control and fertilizer for the garden of my heart, guarding and
purifying me from sin and stimulating growth in grace.

No believer can withstand the assault and the encroachment of the world apart
from a steady intake of the Word of God.  (Nor can we feed on a diet of unholy
reading material and entertainment and expect to have pure hearts or to grow
    spiritually).  Mark this down:

Your progress in holiness will never exceed your
relationship with the Word of God.
